CASTLE OF JOY

 CASTLE OF JOY (2022)

By Búi Dam

DFC performs this piece with a genuine appreciation of those who think outside the box, and by doing so, create magic for the rest of us.”

- Trygvi Danielsen, Dimmalætting

Castle of Joy is based on the true story about the life and work of outsider artist Pól Jóhannus Poulsen, also called Joy. Pól Jóhannus was born in 1925, the youngest of 13 siblings, in a small village in the Faroe Islands. Because he was different, he was labeled the village idiot. However, this did not stop him from pursuing his dream, which was to construct a world of his own – a world of tangled jumble.

DFC’s production of Lykkenborg is a minimalistic one-woman play that tells an epic story about love, loss and art.
